Florida’s exemptions are limited to residents. “Nothing herein
shall affect the exemptions given to residents of this state by
the State Constitution and the Florida Statutes.” Fla. Stat. §
222.20. Florida has opted out of the federal exemptions only
for residents. “[R]esidents of this state shall not be entitled to
the federal exemptions provided in § 522(d) of the Bankruptcy
Code . . ..” Fla. Stat. § 222.20. In re Camp, 631 F.3d 757 (5th
Cir. 2011).
