Iowa’s personal property exemptions are limited to residents.
“A debtor who is a resident of this state may hold exempt from
execution the following property . . ..” Iowa Code § 627.6; In re
Williams, --- B.R. ---, 2007 WL 1520998 (Bankr.W.D.Ark.
2007). Iowa’s definition of “resident” may require domicile. “Any
person coming into this state with the intention of remaining
shall be considered a resident.” Iowa Code § 627.2. Iowa’s
homestead exemption is not limited to residents. Iowa Code §
561.16; In re Williams, --- B.R. ---, 2007 WL 1520998 (Bankr.W.
D.Ark. 2007).
